Yo Quiero Bailar is a participatory arts project for adults with functional diversity, the first of its kind in Puerto Rico, created through Vision.AI.R-e. Participants dance, draw their self-portraits and the landscapes around them, play their drawings as scores on coloured handbells, and film their own movies. From their drawings and sounds each participant builds a world in augmented and virtual reality, steps inside it, and invites families and the public to enter at the final sharing.
The project has run in three iterations. Yo Quiero Bailar began in 2024 at the Instituto Psicopedagógico de Puerto Rico with adults with profound and multiple support needs, supported by the National Endowment for the Arts, and continued there in 2025. In summer 2026 it moved to the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico, where adults with mild to moderate functional diversity spent three weeks in the museum's sculpture garden and made La Naturaleza y Yo. This third iteration was co-produced by Vision.AI.R-e and Proyecto Opciones, with support from Fundación Flamboyán.
